Best seafood restaurants in 50 major cities

Nearly , and if you're one of them, you know that one cuisine dominates these areas: seafood. In New England, steaming pots of clambake and lobster rolls鈥攚hether hot and buttered or cold and creamy鈥攔eign supreme. While the Chesapeake Bay is all about crab, the Gulf Coast celebrates shrimp, oysters, and crawfish prepared with Creole and Cajun spices. On the West Coast, you can find Pacific salmon, Dungeness crab, and halibut, prepared with influences of Japanese and Filipino cultures. And even inland regions have crafted their own seafood identities, from catfish in the South to perch and walleye in the Great Lakes.

According to the National Fisheries Institute, Americans consume 19.1 pounds of seafood per capita. Though , the latest numbers, released in March 2026, show that other fish like Alaska pollock and catfish are seeing a surge in popularity.

Today, the best seafood restaurants honor both trends and regional specialties while also pushing culinary boundaries. A restaurant in New Orleans might turn Gulf shrimp into a delicate 茅touff茅e, while on the West Coast, chefs smoke or ceviche fresh salmon and shellfish, bringing the Pacific to the plate. Across the country, these restaurants show that seafood is a reflection of the water, the land, and the communities that have long depended on them.

If you're curious where to get the best seafood locally, 爆料TV compiled a list of the highest-rated seafood restaurants in 50 major cities using data from as of September 2025. To be considered, a restaurant needed at least 500 votes. If fewer than three restaurants in the city had at least 500 votes, the minimum threshold was lowered to 250, and then further to 50.聽
